TOP 10 HIGH STREET A/W JACKET PICKS

high street a/w jacket picks

If you’ve read my blog or followed me on social media since this time last year, you will be familiar with my total adoration for statement outerwear and how it can totally transform your A/W outfits, therefore I thought that I’d round up my top 10 high street A/W jacket picks to help you find the perfect outerwear for this season.

Before I get into what’s currently available on the high street, I just wanted to take a minute to give this checked beauty from Weekday an honourable mention. I saw it pop up on Instagram earlier in the year and just knew it needed to be mine. It was at the slightly pricier end of the scale at £80 but I feel like this is totally justified as it’s actually made from completely organic and recycled materials making it super sustainable – I really love that about Weekday as a brand and I feel really good when I wear this jacket. Other plus points include it being lightweight enough for me to wear a jumper underneath without sweating and also it frequently gets mistaken for Burberry which is always a plus.

I wanted to make this post directly shoppable but I can’t get the widget to work so for the time being I’ll link to each of the items for you below (affiliate links) and will update with the widget as soon as I can.

So without further ado, here are my top 10 high street A/W jacket picks:

First up we have three absolute beauties from Weekday! I really do adore their selection of outerwear each season and I love the stance they take on sustainability and the materials they use for their clothes. I’m absolutely lusting over this jacket – I love how unstructured it is and it would be a beautiful layering piece going into the colder months. I’ve linked the tweed version but I’m also a big fan of the check too – it definitely wouldn’t look out of place in a Burberry collection and I’m living for it. Next up we have this absolutely divine vinyl trench – I have one similar that I picked up from Bershka in black at the start of the year and I’m loving getting wear out of it again during this transitional season. I do get my fair share of Bladerunner/The Matrix comments but its so worth it. Wear it with tailored trousers and trainers for the ultimate lazy smart outfit. Finally from Weekday we have this trench coat – I’ve been after the perfect traditional trench coat for this A/W season and I think this may be the one! Its such a classic shape and really is a timeless wardrobe addition.

Next up are some current favourites from Topshop. I always love Topshop’s outerwear collections (actually I basically love every collection they do let’s face it) and this year is no different. Leather/faux leather is everywhere on the high street this season and not just in the traditional biker jacket style – this faux leather wrap jacket is gorgeous! I’d style it with a light/acid wash jean and some statement boots for killer autumn style. A slightly more traditional pick is this faux shearling biker jacket – I actually have a similar one from Stradivarius that I took with me to Amsterdam at the beginning of the year (watch the travel vlog here) and was an absolute God send with the cooler weather! Finally we have this absolutely g o r g e o u s faux fur tiger print jacket. Honestly it’s taking all my self control to not purchase this immediately. You guys know my love for gaudy animal print jackets in the winter and honestly if I didn’t have my faux leopard print baby ready to wear I would be living in this all winter long. I mean, I might still get it ngl.

Finally we’re on to some more purse-friendly prices courtesy of H&M. First on the list is this jacket which is giving me allll the Chloe 2018 vibes for a mere fraction of the price! Style this with everything, literally everything, it looks bomb and I need it. Another faux leather offering in the form of this oversized shirt/jacket or ‘shacket’ (a term I hate). I’d definitely wear this more as a shirt and use it for layering throughout the winter! Worn with a white t-shirt underneath and the Chloe jacket over the top would look incredible. You guys know I’m seriously here for anything faux fur the minute September rolls around and I’ve kinda fallen in love with this beauty too – a shorter option if full length faux-fur isn’t your jam and more muted than the tiger print. MORE FAUX LEATHER but this one gets extra points because it’s giving me all the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood vibes and I swear I love that film more than anything I’ve watched for quite some time. I’ve actually got a vinyl version of this jacket which I’ll be showing you soon but I really love this more traditional faux leather version. Such 70s vibes and I kinda feel like this will be a timeless piece to keep in your wardrobe too.

Wow ok that was a longer post than I expected – a gold star to you if you read through to the bottom. Let me know if you pick up any of the coats I linked, I’d really love to see how you style them!
