I love suits. I love suits on men, I love suits on me – I just love them. My love affair began about three years ago with the purchase of my first suit from The Kooples (yes, another purchase heavily influenced by Matty Healy) and its only grown from there. I therefore knew I needed to find a camel suit for the Autumn, my wardrobe simply wouldn’t be complete without it (or so I told myself).
Camel has become such a key colour for me over the past few months – long gone are the days where my wardrobe is solely black, white and grey – suddenly there are varying shades of brown and beige everywhere and I’m truly living for it. I’ve never really embraced or particularly paid attention to 70s style before but since falling in love with everything brown I’m really starting to appreciate trend-led items with a nod to the era, and am amassing quite the collection to add to my Autumn wardrobe.
I feel like a camel suit is such a statement piece, but also something so easy to style. Whether you dress it down as I have done in these photos with a simple t-shirt and trainers, or dress it up with a shirt and heels it can transcend day to night so easily. It works so well with a variety of tones as well – I have the perfect burgundy polo-neck that I am eagerly awaiting to wear with it, and I’m looking forward to styling up both elements of the suit separately too.
If you’re in the market for a camel suit, I picked up this one from Topshop (affiliate link below) and I couldn’t recommend it more. Not only is it the perfect fit but the quality is so good for the price and I really feel like it’s been made to last, rather than likely to wear out quickly. Let me know if you pick it up for yourself, I’d love to see how you style it!
