*AD* – this post is sponsored by ODS Designer however all opinions are my own.

I don’t know about you guys, but while winter fashion is my favourite I definitely find dressing myself this time of year quite tricky. See for me, the problem is that it’s so freezing outside every chic or stylish outfit has to be covered by a coat in order to not catch my death of cold.

Any outfit built around a statement item that isn’t a pair of shoes or indeed a coat itself gets swallowed by the need for multiple layers and I end up reaching for the same jeans, jumper and jacket combination each day which soon becomes boring for everyone.

I don’t have a particularly brightly coloured wardrobe – understatement of the century – so this winter in order to still bring a bit of style to my outfits, I have been falling back on a statement coat or two to get me by. You may already be well acquainted with my leopard print faux fur number from Zara which I picked up back in October and which still remains possibly one of my favourite outerwear purchases ever. Not only does it give me all the Pat Butcher vibes, it’s also ridiculously warm, perfectly on trend and very statement.

You would have thought that would be enough for me, but then I stumbled across this vinyl effect trench coat in the Bershka sale and I just had to go for it. Yes it may look like I just stumbled off the set of Bladerunner but I’m not even mad, I love it. Considering it’s black, I felt strangely overwhelmed by it the first time I tried it on, but when I styled it with this all black ensemble I felt supremely badass. Despite the lack of colour, it’s still a bold choice and definitely drew some looks when I wore it out and about last weekend.

I’ve been after a trench coat for a while. I’ve always wanted a Burberry trench but unfortunately this classic designer item remains out of my price range for the time being. That said, I’m forever browsing the web for new investment pieces and the latest site I’ve stumbled across stocking a huge range of designers including Frocella coats is ODS Designer. The full range of Frocella women’s coats is vast and encompasses so many colours and style variations – perfect for the Baltic conditions we’re currently experiencing!

Are you struggling to put outfits together in this weather? What do you think of my Bladerunner coat? Let me know in the comments below!
