If you’re a long term reader, you’ll already be well versed with the struggle I have with wearing colour. If you’re new around these parts I’ll summarise for you: I hate wearing colour but at the same time I also love it.
Wearing colour is totally out of my comfort zone. Since the days of being a 14 year old emo kid I have pretty much exclusively worn black, white and grey and therefore branching out into the realms of blue denim this year was quite an achievement for me it must be said, however if there is one colour that I do hold a torch for it is red.
Uber festive and therefore perfect for this time of year, I feel like red is the one colour I can wear that doesn’t completely wash me out or have me looking…not quite right, and its the reason why you’ll be seeing a fair bit of these beautiful trousers on the blog over the coming months. I bought them a year or so ago now but hadn’t worn them much – I’ve been scared to style them as they’re still quite out of my comfort zone being so bold but I thought it was about time I showcase them more as they are truly beautiful.
I wanted to challenge myself to style them a little differently for this post, as in the past I’ve stuck with a mesh & trainers kinda vibe so instead of black I donned a white slogan tee and swapped the trainers for a pair of strappy kitten heels and I think this is a vibe I seriously enjoy! Granted the heels belong in the warmer months but forgive me a little bit of creative license. To ensure I didn’t completely freeze to death, I chucked my Zara wool coat (or city coat as I call it) over the top and lemme tell you I was feeling myself!
