When I compare this year’s winter wardrobe to last year’s, the difference is honestly astounding. Last year I was blindly fumbling around desperately trying to figure out what I actually wanted to wear but without giving much thought to practicality which meant I spent most of the season living in t-shirts and wondering why I was permanently cold.
This year, not only have I prioritised the functionality of my clothes, I’m also approaching my wardrobe with an all round open mind. By refusing to limit myself to one colour palette or style I’m allowing myself to be a little more experimental with my winter wardrobe and embrace trends that would otherwise have probably passed me by.
Case in point, this amazing pattern clash. I’m loving everything warm toned right now so this jumpsuit is an absolute dream, embracing my favourite colours for the season ahead. The plaid print is bang on trend and the wide leg gives me all the 70’s vibes and combined with a pair of statement snakeskin boots I definitely felt like I was living in the wrong decade. We’re all aware by now that snakeskin is having a moment, and I genuinely think it may be becoming my favourite animal print. I have my eye on an incredible handbag by The Kooples in the most divine grey and red snakeskin colour way and I’m desperately dropping hints to Mum for Christmas in the hopes it ends up in my stocking in two months time.
I was actually quite surprised by these boots as the heel looked pretty high on the website so I (wrongly) assumed I’d have a bit of trouble walking in them. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find that the opposite is in fact the case – while undoubtedly the heel is high, they’re actually super comfortable to walk in. I did a day in town straight out of the box and can happily report no blisters or sore feet this end, which is what can only be described as a revelation.
