Well guys it’s official, I’m wearing tights, tonight I have burned my favourite Autumn candle and this afternoon I bought a burnt umber bed throw. Autumn is well and truly here and I am LIVING for it.
By now you’ll all know this is 100% my favourite time of year (aside from Christmas: I’m actually listening to a Christmas carol right now, unintentionally like it just came on my Spotify playlist but I haven’t turned it off so I guess that says a lot about my mood right now) – I just love everything about it from the colours to the smells to the fact that it’s slowly getting bloody baltic up North and within the next few weeks we’ll all be snuggled into the warmest coats and scarves whilst warming our hands with a takeout cup of coffee…
Until the inevitable freezing temperatures hit us however I am firmly making the most of blazer weather by wearing this beauty from Stradivarius with absolutely every single outfit until it gets too cold to wear it on its own as outerwear. It’s been teamed with jeans, leggings and a variety of skirts in the past few weeks (I’m getting very into skirts right now) with this little black number from Urban Outfitters a few years ago being my favourite styling combination.
The a-line fit of this skirt is super flattering and I kinda low-key adore the fact that it has pockets because #practical. I wanted to break up the black a little by finally making use of this western style belt Mum bought me for Christmas last year. I’ve been itching to style this but I found out it was a waist belt rather than a belt belt so I haven’t been able to wear it with any of the jeans or shorts I had planned. Instead, it’s come into its own recently being styled with skirts and I’m wholly here for the look.
I finished the outfit off with what is arguably one of my favourite purchases of the year so far: my Fila Disruptors. I’ve been wanting a pair of these for the longest time but just couldn’t justify the price tag until recently. I believe this particular style has only recently been released according to the v. helpful woman in Office and it felt like fate when I tried them on and discovered they are literally the comfiest shoes I’ve ever worn in my life, no joke. I’ve been mourning the loss of my Nike Roshe Runs since I had to throw them away last year and have been waiting to find a pair of sneakers to replace them. It’s taken a good 18 months but I’ve finally found something to rival the in both the style and comfort stakes.
