If there is one thing I’ve learned from going through these photos it is this: I need to find some new poses. There’s only so many ‘one leg cocked at a jaunty angle’ and ‘moody fashion face’ I can pull before we all get bored and you guys, I’m getting a little bored of looking at myself.
Onto more important things however, October is in full swing and Autumn is finally well and truly here. You’ll know by now that I come alive in the later months of the year. There’s something about the evenings drawing in earlier, that crisp chill in the air, winter fashion, cosy evenings in front of seasonal TV and lighting the fire for the first time that gives me all the feelings and this year is no different. Between shopping for pumpkin scented candles and finally getting some seasonal decor in my room at home I am one happy girl.
If there is one thing to ramp up my happiness levels at this time of year (aside from a pumpkin spiced latte because your girl is a basic bitch and proud) it is knitwear. Holy hell you guys I am a woman obsessed and this year is no different. It took me a while, admittedly, to get on the knitwear bandwagon. Similarly to denim in fact, I was never really bothered about it until recently. I think I used to avoid it even though I wanted to embrace it simply because it didn’t fit with this ‘vibe’ I was convinced I needed to have. It’s safe to say with this year being a year of epiphanies both style wise and in life in general, I don’t give a crap about anything other than wearing exactly what I want and this year what I want is knitwear and lots of it.
I stumbled upon this dreamy combination of knitwear and (faux) leather while routing through my drawers for Autumn appropriate outfits and it was such a happy accident. I am now 100% on board with wearing this combination for the entirety of the winter months and am slowly filling up my ASOS saved list with dreamy chunky knits and mustard coloured jumpers. An honorary mention needs to be made for my footwear in this post too – I am still completely obsessed with my Fila Disruptors and am pretty confident that I will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Expect to see a lot of them on this blog until it gets too rainy and miserable to wear them any longer without ruining them.
