Ok so I mean first of all I hope you guys have had the best Easter. I’ve spent mine with Joe and his family in Folkestone and it’s been SO nice to get away from London and the day to day routine for a long weekend. I’ve been a bit down recently, so getting away has definitely helped to clear my head and it has me feeling nice and refreshed for the week ahead.
This week we’re celebrating Joe’s 30th which is going to be fun, and as I’ve booked his birthday off (which is Friday) it means I get another long weekend. I don’t know how I’ll cope the rest of April considering I’ve not actually had a full week in work since the start of March due to birthdays and celebrations but hey ho…
Onto the outfit, I was lucky enough to be contacted by Tobi back in February, asking me if I wanted to pick some outfits from their website. With spring in mind (and a craving to be a little more daring than usual) I decided to pick this beautiful red crop* – in case you haven’t noticed, I have been loving a bit of red recently so I’m really pleased I picked this up before my obsession began. I love this because it’s slightly underwired so you feel really supported in it despite not being able to wear a bra, and the fabric is thick enough that you feel properly covered and not like you’re showing the world what your momma gave you.
Next up, the jeans*. OH THE JEANS. I wanted something in a light wash as most of my denim collection revolves around either black or grey, and I wanted a completely different fit to normal too because I’m low-key sick of wearing skinny jeans and I feel like I want to broaden my denim horizons. I loved the double side stripe down the side of them (also another nod to my current red obsession) as it stays true to my sporty vibe. I got these in a small after checking the sizing online, however when they turned up I realised that they aren’t stretch denim which is a bit of a shame as they’re quite tight on me, however I’m making a real effort to go back to the gym this month so hopefully they’ll be a little more comfortable on me soon! I love the quality of the denim though and I would highly recommend them (just bear in mind there is no stretch in the waist!)
Finally, I finished the outfit off with this amazing bucket bag* – this has absolutely saved my ass recently. It’s surprisingly big inside so fits in all manner of things and while it has a shoulder strap it also has two straps on the back that make it into a backpack too and this is how I’ve been wearing it. I actually find it more supportive than other backpacks I’ve tried in the past and my shoulders have been thanking me for the extra support the past few days. I’m enjoying the slightly shiny faux leather, it reminds me a lot of the current vinyl trend without being squeaky and I think it works well with the zip detailing too.
Basically I put together my perfect spring outfit and I’m super happy about it. I’m really enjoying this surprising pop of colour at the moment so lets see how long it stays around.
