Spring dressing is hard. Now hear me out on this, I know you’re probably staring at your computer/phone/iPad like I’m insane because right now the hughstreet is full of spring fashion but for someone who doesn’t really go for the whole colourful, floral vibe and who basically never wears a dress, spring is a tricky one. So is summer come to think of it, but that’s for a whole other blog post.
So when it comes to dressing for the marginally warmer weather the UK tends to experience at this time of year (current heatwave notwithstanding) I struggle. I struggle, I glare at my wardrobe, huff and puff a bit and throw things around with gay abandon until I stumble across items that might vaguely work together and throw them on in a fit of pique. Sometimes they look terrible and don’t work at all, but other times you get a dream combo and well you guys – I think I’ve found my dream spring combo.
(Because I don’t want to jinx things and say summer yet even if yesterday was literally over 30 degrees in London at times)
I don’t think you could possibly find an outfit that is anymore ‘me’ than this. A slogan tee (oversized, of course), some kind of leggings with a sporty vibe, and my never-leaving-my-feet-again chunky trainers from Topshop. The beauty of these particular leggings is they’re super lightweight (and also slowly turning super see through due to age but we don’t talk about that) and so combined with the oversized slogan tee I literally feel like I’m either wearing some kind of lightweight pjs or potentially nothing at all which can be slightly disconcerting at times if I’m honest.
Do I need to talk about the trainers? I mean I think it’s pretty obvious by now that they’re probably my favourite things ever considering I wear them to death every day. They fill the Balenciaga shaped hole in my life until my bank balance cooperates enough for me to start buying luxury trainers. Which probably isn’t happening any time soon.
