As a continuation of my ‘why isn’t it spring yet?’ rant, have another instalment of my sports luxe for spring-when-it-really-feels-like-winter series. Fun fact: when shooting these photos I thought it would be great to use China town as a backdrop, only it turns out that mid-morning on a Saturday is when they have all of their deliveries, and when I say all, I mean all. The roads were absolutely lined with white vans and there was literally nowhere we could shoot aside from this questionable alleyway so guess what happened…
If you watched my ‘what I got for Christmas’ video back in December, you would have seen that one of my amazing gifts from my mum was this gorgeous leopard print cami from The Kooples. Long time readers of this blog will know how obsessed with that brand I am, so you can imagine how amazed and happy I was to unwrap this on Christmas Day! I’ve been waiting a while to style it – mostly because I didn’t want to quite freeze to death while shooting but also because I wasn’t 100% sure on how to style it in my “signature style”.
It was only the morning of this shoot really when inspiration struck me as it is so often want to do. I hadn’t worn these popper trousers from Shein for a while and had been after a new way of styling them. Suddenly I realised that the paler beige stripe down the side matched with tones in the leopard print cami and the whole outfit came together in a flash. I decided to style it with flats rather than heels for a change as well and for once I didn’t actually mind wearing flats with joggers which I so often avoid doing these days.
This actually turned out to be one of my absolute favourite outfits of 2018 so far which is why I’ve been keeping it under wraps for a while. I wanted to pick the best time to share it with you all and I hope you like it as much as I do! Let me know in the comments below what you think of it and how you would style the cami.
