I went to a primary school that was really religious, and I remember them once telling us the story of Samson in assembly and how he held all his strength in his hair. I’ve recently come to realise that I am essentially a modern day Samson and I haven’t really felt like myself since I cut my long locks off in a fit of pique last year. I was doing really well growing them again but then I destroyed my hair with bleach and had to have the chop again and well, now I feel like I’ve lost my identity.
In a move to win back my former self, I donned some of my all time favourite items for a weekend at home and strutted around a dilapidated farmhouse in the middle of a Welsh mountain. Entirely normal behaviour you cannot deny it…
My long time love, this amazing Topshop crop, had to make a comeback to the hallowed pages of LJLV – it’s been almost two years since I last featured it after all – and not without its famed partner in crime, this mesh Runway crop. I’m hardly experimental when it comes to layering, although textures continue to excite me as much as they did when I first discovered mixing them back in 2014, so this crop does the job at giving an outfit a certain je ne sais quoi (I am so continental). Teamed with this H&M faux leather, baroque embossed skirt of dreams and my old faithful River Island boots I felt my old self returning faster than you can say Rhianna River Island beanie. If you know, you know.
