When you read this, I will be at 35,000 feet (or near enough) on my way to Florida. How damn crazy is that?! Normal content will continue however as your gal has been super organised the past few weeks shooting, filming and scheduling like a crazy person to make sure it’s business as usual over at LJLV. Honestly, blogging is a full time job in itself some days never mind my actual full time job.
I feel like I spend a good 90% of my life searching for cool locations to shoot, and this weekend was no different. Alice and myself found ourselves in Shoreditch on Saturday for a spot of shooting and early Christmas shopping, and while perusing down Brick Lane (and purchasing myself the most amazing sunglasses for my trip) I stumbled upon this bee graffiti.
Now for a Northerner who lived in Manchester for a wee while, it was obvious that I would pick this to shoot in front of. This need was only increased by the fact that Joe has called me bee since we got together – basically this backdrop was meant for me.
In an effort to be a bit edgy this weekend, I decided I wanted to style up a band t-shirt in a different way to how I normally would. I looked through my collection and immediately settled on my ripped up Architects tee that usually only sees the light of day when I go to rock nights in Camden. With my Runway mesh t-shirt underneath, this combination fulfilled all my layering dreams. I decided to combine the tops with my favourite Topshop leather skirt – I will admit I’ve not worn it for a few months as too many share sized packets of crisps had taken their toll on my waistline but I’m slowly able to fit into my old clothes again. This was still a little tight around the old hips but we’re getting there and it was so nice to style it up again.
Finally, I couldn’t resist putting my new sunglasses on despite the overcast weather and threatening rain. Can’t deny, they’re pretty damn cool though…
