So, I’ve been on the look out for the perfect striped t-shirt for a while but not any striped tee would do. Even now I couldn’t exactly tell you what I was holding out for as I spotted so many gorgeous ones in Topshop, H&M etc but well the time came to part with the money and I just couldn’t do it.
Fast forward to this weekend and I was spending a much needed long weekend back home with the family. It was Mum’s birthday on the Monday and so we decided to head to our local designer outlet at Cheshire Oaks for a little browse. I was on a strict spending ban due to impending holidays and the slight inconvenience of having very minimal money for the rest of this month, however I couldn’t resist popping my head into The Kooples. Anyone who is a long term reader of this blog will know just how much I love the brand and absolutely jump at the chance to purchase whenever I can.
I actually went in to speak to them about getting some repairs made to my beloved leather jacket, and just happened to have a browse of their A/W collection while I was there. As I was perusing the rails I stumbled upon the striped t-shirt of dreams and reduced to £35 – I really couldn’t resist. As if it wasn’t already meant to be, as I was paying The 1975’s Robbers came on the radio and it absolutely cemented my choice in my head – The 1975 are the reason I got into The Kooples in the first place, and this top definitely gives me all the small time criminal vibes. I feel like I should be creeping around with a swag bag over my shoulders and a mask over my eyes when I wear it.
Yesterday I decided to team it with my favourite trousers also by The Kooples – these trousers are honestly so ridiculously comfortable and I adore the way they fit me. They’re tight to the skin but not in an uncomfortable clingy way like some trousers, making them look like a smarter alternative to wearing a pair of joggers without the need for tailoring. I decided to go for a red lip to add a splash of colour and that basically made me feel like a small time Parisian criminal and I had to avoid the temptation to walk around exclaiming wildly in French. I barely speak French. It would have been a disaster.
