I don’t think I’ve sat and written down my 2017 resolutions either here on my blog or anywhere else, and aside from making passive references to various things I want to change this year in past posts and videos, I’ve not really set myself anything concrete to aim for.
I’ve recently read a post by Megan Ellaby, catching up on some goals she set herself last winter and where she is at with them now as we’ve transitioned into spring and summer is just around the corner. I thought it was such a great idea that I’m now setting myself some goals for the rest of this year and maybe we’ll check in when September rolls around to see how I’m getting on…
1. I want to get fit. I want to get fit SO DAMN BAD. I’ve always had a crappy relationship with my body but rather than dealing with this the right way I just turn to multipacks of crisps and share sized bars of Galaxy for comfort. I did join the gym earlier in the year but it’s not been something that I could afford to keep up with so I’m setting myself the goal of finding a doable home workout and motivating myself to make the changes I’m so desperate to make. By the end of the year I want to feel confident, lean and strong.
2. I want to travel somewhere I’ve never been before. I’ve already visited Berlin this year which was amazing, but Joe and I both want a sunny holiday somewhere where we can shut off from the stresses of work for a little while. I’d love to visit a country I’ve never been to before so I can tick another off the list and see a little more of the world we live in.
3. I want to move in with Joseph. I’m putting the first parts of this into practice now really, my room is up for rent (if you’re looking to move to London please feel free to book a viewing) and now I just have to wait for someone to take my room before we can move forward and find a place of our own. I’d love to be settled somewhere with him by mid-summer ready to have the winter months in our first place together.
4. I want to be more financially conscious. It’s no secret I’m useless with money and let’s face it, I don’t try to sugarcoat that at all but it’s not a personality trait that I like about myself at all and it’s something I’m so desperate to change so that I don’t spend the rest of this year as financially stressed as I’ve spent the beginning.
So there we are, four resolutions for the rest of the year – do you think I can achieve them? Do you have any goals for the rest of the year? Let me know in the comments below.
