Ok while admittedly my style has taken a change of direction towards the more tailored side in recent months, nothing will take away my love for sports luxe.
Good Friday brought with it a long awaited trip to Manchester to see one of my closest friends and of course a visit to Zara was on the cards. I’d been after a new pair of trousers to add to my wardrobe for quite a while, as currently I only have leather look joggers and while I adore them, they aren’t something I want to wear every day. I’ve been dreaming of something with a more tailored look, and of a more lightweight material for the summer months that both flatters my shape and fulfils all of my slightly alternative but formal desires.
These striped trousers caught my eye almost immediately and I knew they had to come home with me. The stripe down the side gave me all of the sporty vibes, but both the cut and the tailoring completely satisfied my yearning to fill my wardrobe with more mature and timeless pieces. I feel like I could throw these on for a day in the city, and change my trainers to heels for a night of drinks and dancing proving their versatility, and I must admit they are some of the comfiest trousers I own. In fact, I’m actually wearing them right now.
While everything may be mature from the waist down, I couldn’t resist throwing on what remains to be one of my favourite slogan t-shirts that I received for Christmas a few years ago to complete this slightly ‘off-duty’ look, and with my leather jacket from The Kooples slung over my shoulders I could luxe it up in a totally understated fashion.
