Since this post about maturing my alternative style, I’ve found myself giving my wardrobe and my daily outfits a lot more consideration and I’m actually feeling a lot more inspired by the clothes I already have. Recently I’ve been lamenting the lack of funds in my bank stopping me from being able to replenish my closet with new pieces, but challenging myself not only to spend less in the month of April but also to change the way I’m styling myself day to day has led to me feeling a lot more creative.
It’s been a long time since I last wore this top out – literally since last February I do believe, when I discovered much to my disappointment (and embarrassment) that it was actually not long enough to be worn as a dress. I haven’t wanted to style it as a top though as I just don’t feel like it looks right tucked into anything or layered over anything longer. I’ve debated wearing it with shorts before but never quite felt comfortable wearing the combination out until this weekend when I decided enough was enough and it was time to rock it.
I think the addition of my statement boots probably helped matters as we all know they leave me feeling some kinda way, and I really enjoyed layering a more formal blazer over the top as a nod to the more formal me – it also turned out that it was hot as hell in London on Sunday when these were taken so a lightweight blazer rather than my usual leather jacket was an absolute treat.
I can’t go far without my Alexander McQueen sunnies in hand, they are fast becoming my second favourite designer staple (after my new Louis Vuitton purse which is absolutely 100% my favourite accessory in the world ever) and I of course need to draw attention to this gorgeous necklace which is infact a silver plated elder wand from the Harry Potter studio tour that my love treated me to on my birthday. He’s a keeper.
Anyway, long story short, I swanned round London feeling a million dollars and I would 100% recommend.
