I am writing this post as a shell of my former self after 48 incredibly hectic but wonderful hours in London including but not limited to an industry disrupting fashion show, a trip to Camden, bracelet buddies, lots of vodka, espresso martinis, Vaulty Towers, lots of hair dye, wardrobe malfunctions, easy access, terrible singing, questionable body language and two of the best friends ever, as well as my lovely boyfriend of course.
So today after waving Jess and James off at the station, Joseph and I returned home to spend the afternoon feeling achey, hungover and a little sorry for ourselves in front of repeat episodes of Friends, procrastinating packing for our trip to Berlin tomorrow (which will actually be almost over by the time you read this).
I’m still in that post-new hair mindset whereby every time I pass a reflective surface I stare at myself for about 10 minutes while swooshing my hair and pouting. Girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, so when I put this outfit together this morning, I wanted to make sure my hair was the main focus.
Sure, I wear all black combinations most of the time, but this time my statement jacket and icy blue white hair (I think) were the stand out items. In fact, I actually got my first ever ‘hair envy’ comment this afternoon at the Look Magazine X Smashbox event for LFW when Jess and I turned up in all our mermaid hair glory – I’ve always had quite plain hair in the past so I was actually made up that people thought it looked cool for a change.
My outfit itself was built entirely with comfort in mind – I’ve been wanting to try out the fishnets under trousers combination for the longest time but never actually got my hands on a pair of fishnets until recently. I figured that they would look great underneath my Trend Two joggers – they’ve always fit a little short in the leg and it bothered me having a strip of milk white calf between them and my sock – the fishnets broke this up really nicely adding a cheeky bit of texture between the silky fabric of the joggers and my socks.
Of course, they also look fantastic above the waistband of the trousers and blend so nicely with the mesh t-shirt – a Missguided beauty that I bought about 4 years ago and somehow still adore to this day! Do you have any wardrobe favourites that you don’t think you could ever part with? Let me know in the comments below and prepare yourself for some Berlin posts coming your way!
