Question: can I take my obsession for The 1975 to another level?
Answer: just try me.
I don’t think I’ve been this obsessed with a band for many a long year. I didn’t think anything could eclipse my early 90s obsession with everything Spice Girls and Girl Power (I had the bedding, the curtains, the pjs, the picture on my wall…) however my love for the curly haired man with his questionable wardrobe choices and the rest of The 1975 is apparently never ending.
Two Christmases ago, Mum bought me this ‘lol ur not matt healy’ t-shirt from Etsy and its been a firm favourite of mine ever since. I immediately styled it up on the blog in an almost identical fashion to this – black joggers and white trainers (see original post here) and ever since then it’s remained one of my all time favourite outfit posts to date. I mean honestly, I’m not entirely sure why considering it took about 30 seconds in total to throw together and required minimal effort but I just adore it, so when the time came to head into Chester last weekend for a spot of window shopping that turned into actual shopping, I knew just what to throw on.
I’m completely aware that in my last outfit post I may have mentioned the need to grow up and stop essentially wearing pyjamas out of bed and trying to pass it off as clothes but, well, here we are and that is exactly what I did. Still the comfiest combination of clothes I own and probably always will be – can we give a shoutout to the £3 pair of joggers that have been by my side since the very early days of LJLV and aren’t going anywhere any time soon?
I think it’s undeniable that the star of the show in this outfit is this Zara mesh bomber jacket though – proudly embracing everything I love in a jacket from sheer mesh, sports vibes, and 1975 emblazoned across the back it essentially had my name written all over it since the moment I first laid eyes on it in the summer.
