UK Fashion Blogger

It’s been over a month since I last wrote one of these Sunday catch ups, which I’m actually really ashamed about.

I did so well blogging regularly in September but then last month it all seemed to go down the pan as I was just so freakin’ busy! I’ve missed just sitting down and writing a chatty post to you all though, so I thought that was what I’d do tonight – hope you don’t mind.

The last couple of weeks I’ve been having a bit of a creative crisis. While on the one hand I’ve really enjoyed getting back into blogging so much the last few months, I feel like I’m not really utilising this platform enough. I love style blogging and I love clothes, but I also want to speak more about subjects that are more important to me. I just don’t know the best way to go about it. I also want to be a lot more creative with the content that I’m producing, rather than just a series of outfits against grey or black backdrops – but again I have no idea how I want to go about it.

I’ve also let my Youtube channel suffer a little recently. I want to up the quality of my content and learn more editing skills before I upload again. I adore Youtube, and I actually think that it’s my favourite content to create – but I want to do it right, not just do a half-assed job. I do have some video ideas in mind over the coming months, but rather than rushing to do them I’m trying to go through the whole creative process. Storyboarding, test shooting, and producing something a little more special.

I’ve also been reading a lot more recently which is something I’m going to blog about soon. This year I embarked on my first Goodreads reading challenge, where I’m attempting to read 50 books this year (and I’m well on target) – however most of these have been fiction and although I adore fiction, I’m trying to broaden my mind and read a little more non-fiction too. In turn this is again giving me more subjects that I want to write about, but they’re subjects that I feel really need researching before I put my opinion out there. Some of them are a little sensitive.

In terms of what I’ve been busy doing however… I’ve recently gone back to dancing which is making me so happy. I’ve been a competitive Irish dancer for most of my life, and I had a two year break after a ‘career ending injury’ which actually wasn’t career ending at all. Now I’m nice and settled in London I’ve transferred to a new school and I’m spending my Saturdays building my fitness again and learning new choreography.

Last month, most weekends Joseph and I were super busy – we did the British Film Festival, which was an insanely exciting experience! We’ve done theatre dates, we’ve seen a multitude of other films and we also made a trip home to see my family which was perfect, so unfortunately this little space has suffered.

But don’t worry! This month is a lot quieter and I’ve got a lot more ideas up my sleeve – I’m also pre planning my Blogmas content too, so keep your eyes peeled for that starting December 1st.

How have you been spending your time recently? Let me know in the comments.
