Ok so I’m writing this while totally trying to keep an anxiety attack at bay and also my room is like sub zero and I’m shivering like an idiot so apologies if it’s not my best work…

Always great to start a blog post with an apology right?

Now I don’t know about you, but whenever I think of a clutch bag I immediately think of dressing up, nights out, or going out for smart drinks somewhere. You always want a bag that fits in all the necessary girl crap (for me that’s my phone, ID, bank card, Oyster, keys if I’m going back to mine rather than friends’, makeup for repair works, and tablets for my stomach in case I get one of my all too frequent attacks) – but I never think of wearing a clutch bag when just out for the day.

When the lovely folk at Koko Couture offered to send me one of their gorgeous bags from their latest collection, I of course jumped at the chance – but I really wanted to challenge myself with styling it to see if I could make it work in a more casual environment. I chose the Elizabeth Faux Leather Clutch*, and I really couldn’t have made a better choice – not only is it super stylish as you can see from the pictures, but it’s really versatile too. The removable shoulder strap makes it perfect for going out during the day, and also means it’s really easy to transform into a chic evening bag too if you don’t plan on going home.

It’s also surprisingly big inside. I can happily fit my entire purse in there along with all my other necessary rubbish without it being too full or stretching the zip to bursting. I’m also really pleased with the quality of the material – sometimes I find that faux leather can be a little lacking and feel quite harsh or ‘plasticky’ (that’s a technical term I promise >.<) but this genuinely feels beautiful. It’s soft and supple without feeling flimsy and got me so many compliments off my family when I took it home recently.

Finally I love the hardware on it – it’s ‘space grey’ to steal Apple’s terminology (sorry guys, I can’t describe it as anything else) and works so well with the matte black of the material. It also makes a really nice chance from a harsher silver or gold.

What do you think of this bag? Have you ever tried styling a clutch in a casual environment and do you think I’ve managed to do it justice? Let me know in the comments!

I'm the same when it comes to clutches, I feel like I can only use them if I'm off out out [which is rare] I tend to always always to lug my back pack around with me haha! Love how you've styled it, particularly the top, I was drooling over that the other day on the site. My wardrobe is like 99% misguided now ever since ark closed down [still hurts]

Oh god same here, my poor backpack gets lugged round London with me on a daily basis absolutely crammed with cameras and general paraphernalia, I've only had it about 2 months and it already looks about 6 years old! Thank you! I couldn't pick between it and about 3 others but I'm so glad I chose that one – the material is surprisingly thick and good quality too I'd definitely recommend getting it! <3
