Trust me to wait until summer is over to buy a pair of statement sunglasses…
I mean they will have their uses for the rest of this year, namely protecting me from that crazy bright winter sun that has a habit of blinding me (especially when I’m driving, but y’know, the lack of car in London kinda puts a stop to that necessity) and also in hiding the majority of my face in blog photos. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with my face exactly, I just can never pull attractive facial expressions in photos – I either look gormless or miserable or an attractive amalgamation of both.
I took these photos last Sunday when London was doing that super convenient thing where it’s deceptively sunny but really not as warm as you’d first expect. In an attempt to nail the transitional dressing thing once and for all I decided on the jumper and shorts combination: sensible and fairly cool. I mean I do always wear tights on my lower half because I’m not hugely enamoured with my leg tattoos anymore and I’m even less enamoured by the weird looks I get from people on the street when I get them out – also I’m so pale I’m basically a danger to traffic so there’s that too – so I don’t know if cool is exactly the right word to use but just work with me here ok?
This Adidas sweater was one I picked up either at the end of 2014 or at the start of 2015 (memory and myself are not getting on so well right now) so it’s possibly no longer available but it’s all kinds of comfortable. I like that it’s not too heavy either so you don’t find yourself completely boiling when the weather is still in its awkward stage, but its oversized nature is super cosy and it has pockets in the front. POCKETS!! There are so many things similar to this in the shops at the moment (although possibly sans pockets) so it shouldn’t be too tricky to arm yourself with the perfect Autumn sweater!
I really wasn’t sure what to team it with for a while – I was toying with the idea of a skirt but although I do love my leather look H&M skirt it does have a horrible habit of spinning itself round on me every time I wear it and ends up a little ‘business in the front, party at the back’ if you catch my drift. Therefore these Boohoo leather look shorts seemed a lot more sensible and I think they work really well.
How would you have styled an outfit like this?
