Now we’ve all heard of #throwbackthursday but I’m bringing a whole new trend to you guys tonight with #throwbacksunday.
It’ll never catch on….
So first of all I do wanna apologise for my absence on here this week. It’s been a busy week and finding the time to sit down and write has been impossible, however here I am and without further ado I’m gonna throw it back to the early days of LJLV and show you guys my 8 favourite outfits from 2014. I’ll try not to talk too much about them otherwise this post could take on biblical proportions but we’ll see, we all know I like a ramble.
Standard Lj, black, black and just a hint of black this outfit was from around December ’14 if my memory serves me correctly and was just after I discovered my love of all things ~sports luxe~. This Adidas sweater still remains a wardrobe favourite, and I’m shocked it hasn’t appeared on here more often tbh considering I’m wearing the life out of it in the cold weather at the moment.
Oh Leeds Festival you beautiful creature, how I miss you! This was the outfit combination I wore to Leeds 2014, the first time I saw The 1975 and I think a turning point in my journey with anxiety. I loved this outfit mainly for the Mean Girls quote on the front of the vest. ‘YOU CAN’T SIT WITH US’. It will never get old.
This was literally minutes before walking into my first ever blogging event and oh MY god I was so nervous. This probably shows on my face actually come to think of it. I also think that one of the pictures from this shoot was the first one that got over 100 likes on Instagram as well which was great at the time but I’m actually quite sad that that’s a stand out memory for me really…
Before my whole ~sports luxe~ obsession began – I kinda do miss this style sometimes, it looks a lot more polished than how I dress now but I feel so much more comfortable in what I wear nowadays. Dilemmas eh?! Can we note the combination of smart jacket and 1975 tee? I was proud of this at the time.
I still love every single thing about this outfit. Those Trend Two joggers were the first joggers I ever fell in love with and I’m 90% they’re what started the whole style off for me. I still have them in my drawer now – they have a hole in the leg that needs fixing and they definitely look a little worse for wear 2 years down the line but I’ll never part with them. Also my demonic t-shirt will always be bae.
My fabby friend Tom took these for me a few days before Christmas. I think I was ill, I was definitely exhausted but I really loved this shoot and this outfit. I haven’t worn this combination in so long, I think I need to bring it back again!
Observe, the Lj in her natural habitat… the one outfit that I felt really, really summed up my style in 2014 and I absolutely fell in love with it. Basically every single item I’m wearing in this shot is still in my wardrobe and still so well loved. I mean we’ve all seen the beanie so many times I don’t even need to draw attention to it anymore, but those trainers have been worn to death and well the joggers and top I’ve mentioned already.
Ok so ~technically~ this one is from 2015 but it’s snuck in because it was my favourite shoot ever ever ever. I love the jacket, the shoes are my favvv and my ‘lol ur not matt healy’ t-shirt still makes me giggle like a twat every time I see it.
So there we have it guys and dolls. A little Sunday throwback for you. It’s so crazy to see how much my style has changed since I started blogging – my whole reasoning for starting this blog in the first place was as a place to document my journey with fashion, how my style develops over the years and finding my comfortable place in the industry and looking back I’m totally doing just that and loving every second.
