Disclaimer: I’m sorry if this post makes very little sense. I’ve just heard The 1975’s new song ‘Love Me’ for the first time and well, any long term readers will know of my absolute obsession with that band and I might have tried cooking in the lead up to the song airing and I might have grated half a block of cheese into my dinner by mistake.
No regrets. Everyone loves cheese.
But you can probably gauge my current mental state correctly.
TL;DR ALL OF THE EXCITEMENT.
Right, now that’s over – on to the outfit! I headed down to LFW this season for the Saturday – I was planning on making the trip anyway if I could, and then my best friend moved into a new flat, and suddenly I was being invited to blogger lounges and arranging shoots and it made sense to go for the whole weekend, so I found myself frantically booking train tickets and hotels and desperately trying to decide on an outfit that was suitably ‘fashun’ while still being, well, me.
I’ve been waiting for an excuse to wear this Alexander Wang bustier ever since I bought it from that H&M collaboration last year, and thrown on under my RUNWAY mesh vest (#90sBitch) it just worked. Plus what’s LFW without a bit of designer? My Boohoo faux leather shorts (similar) made another appearance – being high waisted and teamed with heels it basically gave the illusion that 1) I have long(ish) legs and that 2) I am tall.
My all black ensemble was broken up with my trusty white Urban Outfitters backpack that actually hasn’t made an appearance on here for a good few months after being featured on basically every blogpost, and my RiRi for River Island beanie made its triumphant return to help me keep my hair in check during the long day of shooting, networking and general blogger nonsense.
I like to think that in the mass of on trend 70’s styling and ALL OF THE COLOUR my all black errrday stood out. This is what I like to think. (I’m probably wrong.)
I had the best day, made even better by my long awaited collaborative shoot with the fabulous Anton of Style Division – if you haven’t checked his site out yet you really should, it’s honestly incredible and is firmly in my top 3 must read blogs every day. A massive thank you to him for such wonderful photos!
