I know, I know. Posts have been a little thin on the ground again this last week – I’m sorry!
I feel like I’ve barely had time to breathe between working like crazy and then trying to have some semblance of a social life, but I’m home now for a few days of relaxation which is allowing me to get on top of blog shoots and YouTube videos and hopefully by the time I’m back in Manchester on Sunday evening I should have my shit together again.
Also, Love Island finishes on Wednesday so there’s that. I’ll have my evenings back! (Anyone else totally addicted? No? Just me then.)
2 weeks ago my lovely Momma made the trip up to Manchester to come and see me because I was feeling a little lonely (I still have no friends there, woe is me) and a bit sad, so we decided to be ladies who lunch and head over to The Alchemist in Spinningfields which is basically my favourite bar in the world ever. I’ve never tried the food there, but owing to it being part of the same chain as a few of my other favourite restaurants in the city, I figured the food would be good and oh wow I was NOT disappointed.
We decided to start off with a Virgin Mojito while we browsed the menu – it was easily the best one I’ve ever had. Fruity, refreshing and totally sweet it definitely hit the spot and helped cool me down on what proved to be a surprisingly sunny Saturday. I actually had that problem we all know and love, where you literally cannot choose what to have on the menu because you literally want everything.
I’m not even kidding – the menu is that good. I eventually settled on the Classic Club Sandwich with fries while Mum went for the Steak sandwich and we sat, eagerly awaiting our food to arrive while having a cheeky glance at the host of very attractive young men that seemed to be milling about wherever we looked. I mean if that won’t cheer you up then not a lot will! With surprisingly speedy service our food arrived and well, I’m just going to let the pictures do the talking:
I can’t speak for Mum’s steak sandwich (she ate it so quickly I couldn’t even attempt to get a sneaky taste) but I can definitely say my Club Sandwich was the best I’ve ever had. Filled with tasty bacon and roast chicken, it was an absolute explosion of flavour and I was in absolute food heaven. Full bellies aside we couldn’t say no to a dessert of Cinnamon Belgian Waffles served with syrup and vanilla ice cream.
I don’t normally like cinnamon, however these waffles have changed me. I’ve dreamed about them. I even had them a second time when I went back with my friend last week they’re just that good. It’s like eating Christmas. If you’re ever around the Spinningfields area and are after a quick bite to eat, I’d totally recommend giving The Alchemist a go!
