I’ve done it again. Fallen in love with a piece of clothing so badly that it’s essentially not left my back for the last week. THIS JACKET THO.
I know you’re probably all shaking your heads in dismay that I’ve actually gone out and bought a warm jacket just when the nice weather has arrived. It’s like I’ve spent the last 6 months of sub zero temperatures staunchly wearing crop tops and as soon as we have a tiny bit of sun I’m on it with the coat, but hear me out…
The only jackets I have and actually like are heavy duty long winter coats, or in the case of my lil’ faux fur number, short winter coats. I have nothing lightweight to take me through spring and again through early autumn until now. This little beauty is like the holy grail of jackets for me. Waist length, warm but lightweight, waterproof (I think) and black (obvs) and just so totally me it’s ridiculous. I am honestly and truly in love.
I’ve been wanting to shoot this outfit for weeks but the weather just hasn’t been right, plus I kinda had to wait for the shoes to arrive, so when my Missguided box arrived in the post last week and I established I could definitely walk in them, I headed out to shoot on my favourite little street in Chester.
It makes a nice change from me posing under bridges, and since it’s nice and secluded I didn’t feel like a total idiot. I always forget how flattering these trousers from Topshop actually are on me, and teamed with my slightly cropped vest from All Saints and my new Missguided sandals I honestly felt incredible. I think it’s the extra height that did it (every inch helps *ahem*) and the fact they helped create the silhouette I wish I had naturally, I honestly felt like I could take on the world. The coat just added the finishing touch and not only did I feel uber stylish, I was also warm. Which helps.
