A fashion & lifestyle blog

I am more than a little excited for Christmas shenanigans now, all the presents are wrapped and hidden away, I've already eaten my body weight in chocolate and I'm just so excited to give my parents their gifts now. It's actually my favourite moment of the year watching them open what I've bought for them, especially as this year will probably be the last year I can really spoil them (until I'm a millionaire obvs) because I'll be moving into my own place next year and definitely won't be able to afford it.

I've finished work for 2 weeks now as well which is good! I've needed a couple of weeks off just to switch off and relax, it had gotten to the stage where I was dreaming of work last week because there was just so much going on and I was so stressed that I couldn't even switch off in my sleep, so 2 weeks away from the office is much needed even though I have had to bring some work home with me to do over Christmas.

It also means that I can get some outfit shots done in bulk ready for January. I'm trying to decide on a blog schedule for the New Year as I feel like this year has been a bit haphazard and all over the place. I love daily blogging but it's something that just doesn't work for me as I end up getting way too stressed over it while trying to work and have a social life as well, so I'm debating keeping it to 2 outfit posts, my Sunday post and one miscellaneous post a week but we'll see what the New Year brings.

I also read a really thought provoking article this morning (here) which has struck a chord with me and got me thinking about my own levels of social media consumption and how I've let it affect my daily life. I think everyone nowadays is guilty of comparing their lives with others around them, and especially in the blogging and YouTube world, but I never before realised the levels in which I do it and how unhappy it actually makes me. It's something I'm going to be considering a lot going into 2015, I really need to make some changes.

  1. Do whatever makes you happy! If your real life is getting in the way of the blog, oh well! It's your blog after all ;)

Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy your time off work!

  2. I hope you have a lovely 2 week break :) I hope you mange to put your feet up and really relax! xx

  3. I usually blog once a week but I have a lot of ideas from Christmas through the new year so maybe I should do daily blogging!! Lovely post :D

  4. I wish I could keep up with daily posts too but it's so time consuming. Going to give the article a read, think were all guilty of comparing ourselves too much x

  5. I also just got 2 weeks of work. So desperately needed. I think especially the end of the year break is always great to reflect on priorities and your life in general. You are ahead of me though, i still have a lot of presents to wrap and i still need to bake christmas cookies etc. I guess we are indeed all guilty of comparing ourselves to much. I do not even need social media for that, i do that already to much in my offline life. I guess one important message is also that we just see what other people let us see and that we never get the full picture.
XXX and have a great holiday

  6. I love this pre-holiday time so much! This is the time when you can make plans for the next year and to finish all long-going staff. I always make resolutions during the week before Christmas and post them at rewardedessays.com . Then I can check them any time a year and see what Ive made and what I still need to do.

  7. Woah! I'm really enjoying the template/theme of write-my-essay-for-me.com this site. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's hard to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say that you've done a very good job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super quick for me on Safari. Outstanding Blog
