This is actually the second time I've been nominated for the Leibster Award, it's a fab way to promote newer bloggers, and get to know each other. It's been a post on my 'to do list' for about 4 weeks now and I've just not got round to it yet, I'm terrible I know. So this time I've been nominated by the lovely Eleanor after previously being nominated by Cat, and will be answering the questions (and linking my nominations) below.

Shop Drop Shop

So, that time of the week has rolled around again! Crazy huh? This week I was intending to put together an autumn evening outfit, something that I'd wear out for dinner and drinks with friends now that the weather is going colder - only it didn't work out that way because I actually bought this shirt from Topshop last week and thought that this would be a perfect opportunity to show you how I'd style it.

I sized up about 4 sizes when I bought it as I want to wear it as a loose fitting, slouchy shirt into A/W. I'd style it with a pair of distressed black jeans and a pair of slides like these stunning ones by Chloe for a casual shopping trip. Paired with a classic white backpack and some cute accessories it would be the perfect comfortable outfit.

How would you style this shirt?

Caran D'Ache is an exclusive boutique set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, catering to all ages and styles they have a really eclectic collection of clothes and one which I adore to peruse whenever I'm in the area. This week they were celebrating the opening of their third store in the village of Frodsham, and previewing their A/W '14 collection, so of course I went down to have a nosy!

So you may or may not be aware that The 1975 are my absolute favourite band, so of course when I saw them at Leeds last week I ended up buying one of their shirts so that I can look like a crazy fangirl wherever I go. I actually found though that the shirt is really versatile and looked fab teamed with my River Island bodycon skirt and Topshop jacket for a days shopping in Manchester at the weekend. I also threw on my Topshop heels to give me the illusion of being over 5ft and it made the perfect shopping outfit.

The jacket is perfect for the transitional period between summer and autumn, as its warm but also majorly light weight, however, when the weather gets a little colder I've got a perfect long black coat to wear with this outfit and my new plaid scarf to add a splash of colour.

What are you wearing during this awkward weather stage? Do you have any favourite band shirts?

In hindsight (it's a wonderful thing isn't it?!) I should have probably uploaded this before I went to Leeds... but never mind, today will suffice and seeing as we still have Bestival coming up before the 2014 festival season comes to an end, hopefully a few people will find this helpful!

Today I went a little bit crazy in Manchester with Mum, but I had a lot of fun! I thought I'd put together a quick haul post for you guys to show you what I picked up and will be wearing over the coming weeks. I'm especially excited by the cigarette pants and my new shirt, so stylish yet simple!
I've got an exciting week coming up, going to the launch of the A/W collection of a local boutique which I will of course be blogging about, as well as a trip into Manchester to buy my Mum's birthday present and possibly splurge a little more of my wages in Topshop.

I hope you've all had a fantastic bank holiday, what have you been up to?

the 1975

This would of course normally be my Saturday selection, only it's Sunday and I spent most of yesterday recovering, so this week we're doing a weekend selection instead before I get up and head to Manchester for a girls night with Mum.
The 1975 are my absolute favourite band at the moment, they inspire me on a daily basis and since they hail from my neck of the woods, I am more than a little fond of them. Seeing them at Leeds Festival this weekend was an absolute dream come true, and meeting them was even better. So this weekend brings an outfit inspired by them, and my daily style. A mixture of smart tailoring and grunge, with my statement coral/orange lip and some gorgeous brogues to really supplement the androgynous feel of the look I've put together. Splash on some classic perfume and you're ready to go!

How do your favourite bands influence your style?

I am writing this tucked up bed, absolutely drained from Leeds Festival yesterday but oh wow I had so much fun. Meeting The 1975 will probably remain the high point of my year, and as always Blink-182 were incredible. I actually wish that I was there for the whole weekend but I'm away in Manchester tomorrow night for a girls night with Mum, and plenty of shopping!

I wanted something super comfortable and chilled out for Leeds this year, so I went for this River Island vest top with the classic Mean Girls quote, and this Topshop checked shirt layered over for a casual vibe. I teamed them with my high waisted New Look shorts and opaques and long socks to keep my legs warm. I also took this River Island bag with me, it was the perfect size to carry everything I needed for a day in the festival without the convenience of being able to leave things in my tent. I also had a denim jacket and raincoat with me as well for warmth and any adverse weather! It's definitely my favourite festival outfit I've ever worn as it was both comfortable, practical and stylish and I'm sure I'll be rocking something similar next year.

What did you wear to Leeds/Reading this year? Would you have styled this outfit differently?

I think I speak for most of the female population when I say that a major part of magazine selection for me is the freebies included! Whether it's a mini nail polish, pair of sunglasses or new lipgloss, I have been known in the past to buy a magazine purely on the gift they're giving out rather than any burning desire to read the magazine itself - shameful I know!

I tend to stockpile my freebies until I'm running low on beauty products, and then use them up in place of buying expensive alternatives, which is what I've done this time! I've decided to review them all in small groups rather than all at once, so without further a-do, let me introduce you to the first three fabulous freebies!

Top: River Island // Skirt: River Island // Hat: Pretty Little Thing // Shoes: Vivienne Westwood // Jewellery: Shop Dixi

I bought this skirt in River Island when I went shopping for Leeds Festival, and automatically knew it would be my new favourite. It absolutely clings to my curves in all the right places and due to it being high waisted it's the absolute perfect skirt for my figure. I also saw this crop top at the same time but didn't buy it as I'd placed myself on a spending ban after tallying up my purchases already. Said spending ban lasted approximately 9 days before I accidentally went shopping again. Of course, upon returning to River Island I got told they'd sold out of the top and it was discontinued from their current line as they got ready for A/W, so I dutifully scurried off home and bought it from their website instead. I LOVE THE INTERNET.

I was going to team it with a pair of black brogues, but then I went upstairs and found that my Mum had donated these gorgeous Vivienne Westwood flats to me as they hurt her feet, so it was quite plainly obvious I'd wear these instead. My gorgeous hat from Pretty Little Thing really finished the outfit off and I'm so excited to wear this out and about!

How would you guys have styled this skirt?

Sweater: River Island // Skirt: River Island // Creepers: Underground // Necklace: Southern Culture

My wonderful Dad helped me with these pictures at the weekend, and on camera they looked brilliant. As thumbnails they looked brilliant. So I load them up, add them to my blog post and they're out of focus -_- so I apologise for the horrendous picture quality. I'm actually tempted to try and re-shoot these at some point this week.

Anyway, I saw someone in town in this sweater last week, and decided that I just had to have it. It's a little bit of an ironic statement for me, simply because I am obviously anything other than a full time blogger currently (I can dream though right?!) but it's also perhaps something I aspire to, so maybe I might feel super inspired if I walk round with my dream written on my chest for the world to see.

I decided to team it with the little bodycon skirt I bought from River Island which is shown in my August haul video, and my Underground creepers. I bought these a few years ago now but they are so comfortable I still team them with everything I can! I also added this gorgeous stag necklace from Southern Culture, a fab little jewellery company that do the most stunning and original pieces - I think this is about a year old now but I love it, it's such a statement piece and I always get so many compliments on it when I go out.

Have you guys got any statement tops? What would you pair this one with?

Yay!! One is in focus :)

Hello my lovelies! I decided today that I needed to update my YouTube channel a little more, as it's just been a sporadic thing when I've needed to upload a haul or favourites video. So today I decided to make a little introductory post and do 10 facts about me, so you all get to know me a little better than you did before.

I'm sorry I've not been as consistent with updating this blog over the last two weeks, I've been making some really important life decisions however I think I've managed to resolve these issues now and I should be back to posting every day/every other day from tomorrow which means lots of new and exciting photos for you lovely lot.

I'm also going to be sorting the design for this blog out before the end of the month - I know I keep saying this but I ended up spending too much money on clothes at the start of the month so I need to wait for payday now >.<

Anyway, I hope you've all had a brilliant weekend and are excited for the week ahead. I've had a fab time catching up with the girls and going out for breakfast this morning with my best friend. Tomorrow will be an exciting day for me in work as I get to do more content writing for the company which is something I've always wanted to do, and then I'm off to Leeds Festival on Friday and for a night away with my mum on Sunday so it's a busy week for me, but I will continue to update as usual.

Sweater: Topshop // Shorts: New Look // Sandals: Boohoo // Jewellery: Republic

I know I've been banging on about sweaters for weeks now and how excited I am for A/W. Since we're still in August and I can't fully embrace my winter clothes yet (seriously, we're talking a matter of weeks before I dust off the jackets and jumpers and wax lyrical on the snuggliness of knitwear) I thought that this fairly lightweight sweater I bought from Topshop earlier on in the year would be a perfect match with the shorts I bought for Leeds Festival from New Look last week.

Now I realise you can't actually see the shorts in this picture but I promise that they are there - I think you may be able to see a hint of short in a few of the photos below, but failing that they're shown in my August haul video which is viewable here. I also wanted to attempt the whole socks and sandals thing which some people hate but I've seen a few people, especially Kayla Hadlington pull off like a pro! I'm not sure whether or not I embraced it very well here, but I think the combination of my super long jumper and the ankle socks gives the illusion that I am in fact tall, rather than a mere 5ft2.

Do you like socks and sandals? Or do you fail miserably to pull them off like I do? :')

Sweater Weather

Seriously, I cannot believe how quickly Saturday comes around each week. I've now had this blog for 8 weeks - mental! So another typically monochrome outfit from me again this week, I fear I'm becoming a little predictable but at least I am consistent!

Slouchy sweaters are my absolute favourite when it starts to get colder, and now I'm gearing towards A/W my wardrobe is also beginning to make changes, therefore this off the shoulder sweater would be perfect for lazy weekend shopping trips, and those days when you really don't feel like being uber smart. Equally, these stunning drawstring leather trousers are the absolute bomb and scream comfort at me. I'm scared of slouchy trousers as I'm not exactly blessed with long legs and anything that isn't skin tight has a habit of making me look about 2 foot shorter than I actually am, but teamed with a pair of heels like these little suede beauties, I think I could get away with it!

Finally, I've accessorised with black and white (of course). I have fallen in love with Grafea over the last few months and know that when I've got a little more money to burn I will be making my first purchase (excitement!!), I've also fallen for this gorgeous white NARS nail polish which will definitely be making its way home with me during my Selfridges shopping trip next week.

Are you all getting excited for the winter months now? How would you have styled the leather trousers? I'd love to hear from you all :)

Thumbs up for the super attractive thumbnail there! I'm about a week later than intended uploading this *slaps wrist* but I think it's probably my least awkward video to date so we're definitely getting somewhere!

I know I'd promised that this month I was going to be good and strictly limit myself to beauty and skincare buys, but as you can see from the video I have in fact bought no beauty or skincare and instead blew my monthly budget on clothes. Again. I've since been shopping with my Mum and will be going again in two weeks time - I think I have a genuine addiction!

What products have you all been buying so far this month?

I thought it had been a while since I'd done a beauty post so I thought that tonight was the night that I should break my makeup related silence with a post on my everyday makeup staples. Ironically, I've just seen my ex-boyfriend on a makeup based, BBC3 dating show. Funny how the world works isn't it?

First up on my list of products I absolutely cannot live without, is my MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NC15. I have tried so many other foundations, and although I know this one is probably one of the most common out there, it really has been the best for my skin so far. I dabbled for a while with Dior which I loved, but I found that the colour match wasn't quite right for me. Equally, I've tried MAC's Studio Sculpt which, although being a better colour match due to their NC15 being slightly lighter, was not the right consistency for my skin and I found it transferred onto my clothes way too easily.

I also absolutely love this mini NARS eyeshadow palette in 'Madrague'. I've featured this recently on my July favourites video and I absolutely cannot get enough of it. The shades are perfect for a natural looking day to day look, especially if you're looking for a neutral work look, and although not the most pigmented eye shadows in the world they definitely do their job!

I am massive fan of Illamasqua, and the first (and only! *sobs*) product I currently own by them is their Brow Cake in 'Thunder' which I use 99% of the time. I got told by the lovely makeup artist on their stand in Selfridges that the Brow Cake should last me two years. I've used it almost every day (literally, I've only gone Brow Cake free for maybe a week at the start of the year when I was ill and the last week when I've been giving my brows a growing sesh) for the last 10 months and I'm not even close to half way through it. It's my favourite brow product EVER and I love a good brow product.

My wonderful moisturiser has snuck into the corner of this photo and rightly so. MAC's Comfort Creme Moisturiser is like a breath of fresh air for my skin. I use it morning and night and it smells divine and also leaves my skin so soft it's unreal. It truly is a comfort for me when I put it on, and I literally cannot go to sleep without a nice coating of this on my skin first!

Finally, I come to my favourite lipstick in the world, MAC's Saigon Summer. I first fell in love with orange/coral lipsticks after seeing Lucy Watson's staple lipstick on Made in Chelsea, and shortly after fell in love with this shade by MAC. It's become a total go to staple for me, and I honestly think a strong orange lip is becoming my trademark - I'm so glad this is on MAC's main product range and isn't a limited edition or I may just have ended up buying about 30 of them to keep me covered for the foreseeable future!

What are your every day makeup staples? Do you have any recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments below!

Top: Topshop // Jeans: Topshop // Shoes: New Look // Jewellery: Shop Dixi // Bag: River Island.

This weekend, I finally got some medical problems sorted out, and it's made me so happy. I can finally start really embracing both life and happiness with open arms for a change and I'm totally ready for anything that comes my way!

I wore this little ensemble on Friday, I wanted something stylish yet comfortable and this long sleeved top from Topshop was absolutely perfect. I had been so desperate to find a nice loose fit, long sleeved t-shirt before I stumbled across this little beauty at the start of the year. I keep forgetting I have it and then finding it again and wondering why on earth I don't wear it more often.

I also finally braved wearing my white jeans out of the house...and I didn't ruin them! I'm so proud, I feel like a grown up!

Am I the only one who is scared of crisp white jeans?

Winter 1.0

I know it might still be August in reality, but in my heart we are well and truly into autumn. I love the first few weeks of autumn when it's still quite warm but the colours begin to change and you can smell winter in the air, that's when I begin to really feel alive and this autumn I have so many fun things planned.
I am also really excited for A/W fashion, so I decided that this week's Saturday Selection was an outfit appropriate for those first few weeks of September, when you don't feel the need to layer up but you definitely can't get away with wearing shorts anymore. I love this ombre looking sweater, it adds a little dash of colour to an otherwise mainly monochrome outfit, and layered up with this gorgeous leather jacket it would be a fab A/W wardrobe staple.
I know that I will be absolutely living in my white jeans this autumn, and need to find myself a nice pair of Nikes like these to keep my feet dry but looking fabulous when the weather turns! And well, do I even need to explain the LV?
What will you guys be wearing this autumn?

This summer seems to be one of new experiences for me. First going out for breakfast, and now, wearing the exact same outfit (see, I told you I'd post it eventually) I found myself off to Chester Races for a lovely day in the sun with one of my best friends.

Admittedly, these aren't the most flattering photos for me figure wise, however I felt a million dollars in this outfit, and my confidence soared while I was swanning around the County Stand sunglasses on, and money to burn! I'm quite lucky in that my Granny was majorly into racing when I was little, so I used to spend many a weekend sat watching it with her. I watched it more for the horses than anything else as I was shoved up on a horse's back for the first time at the tender age of 8 months old, but I think some of her betting skills must have subconsciously passed on to me as I ended up with more wins than losses!

I absolutely adore this Primark midi dress-it honestly looks such high quality in the flesh that you definitely wouldn't think it was Primark's finest, and coupled with my Topshop blazer and Urban Outfitters hat it was the perfect smart summer outfit, and luckily it was so lightweight that when the sun came out I barely overheated at all!

It was so refreshing to see everyone so dressed up, and as it was a child friendly event there was none of the drunken debauchery we usually see in Chester on race days! I've decided I'm definitely going back as often as possible, although next time I want a hospitality box dahhhhling ;)

Have you ever been to the races? What is your perfect race day outfit?
