BLOGMAS DAY 11: HOW I GIVE MY HAIR VOLUME

UK Fashion Blogger

Please excuse the horrendous product photography ^^ this is why I'm not a beauty blogger >.<

A few weeks ago, the lovely Charlotte from Fox Socks was looking for bloggers to test out John Frieda products and I couldn't resist offering up my blog. I'm always on the hunt for products that are going to help give my hair volume as, while my hair is perfectly straight, it is always super thin and flat. She sent me the Luxurious Volume Shampoo*, Conditioner*, Treatment* and Root Booster*.

I wanted to test these products for a good couple of weeks so that I could give you guys a proper, honest review. The packaging states that by using the shampoo, conditioner, volumising treatment and root booster together you will get visibly bigger hair for 7 days after washing - I was sceptical about this, in the past I've used volume boosting shampoos and treatments and have been quite disappointed by the results, however this time I definitely noticed the difference for most of, if not the full week after application.

I'm normally the kind of girl who just uses a shampoo and conditioner in the shower and leaves it at that. My hair is lucky if it gets properly blown dry, I usually quickly go over it with the hair dryer and that's it - so as you can probably tell, the likelihood of my using multiple products in one go is pretty low. I quite enjoyed it however, even though it did make my shower twice the usual length, I felt like I was really treating my hair well and giving it a bit of a pamper. The shampoo, conditioner and treatment are all products to use in the shower, and the root boosting spray is used just before drying your hair.

Because I'm not used to using multiple products however, it does make my hair a little greasier - I don't know if maybe this is also down to something in the product itself, so I've found that switching things up a bit so I'm not using all four of the products every wash is helping my hair to look and feel less oily.

Despite making my hair a little greasier, overall I really like these products and I would definitely continue to buy them! Do you have any hair products that help boost your volume?
