SOMEBODY ELSE

Do you ever read something that makes you feel so totally unlike yourself but then also reminds you so much of a version of you that you used to be and thought you'd gotten rid of? Yeah that.

I'm about 20 pages off finishing A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara and honestly it's one of the most beautifully traumatically stunning things I think I've ever read but it's bringing back all of the feels and tonight I just don't feel like me. I feel like 17 year old me and all the crap that I was feeling then has kinda just come back to me in a huge rush of emotion and just holy wow. Great way to start a blog post eh? But they do say that writing is cathartic so...

ANYWAY, I filmed this lookbook about two months ago now (time flies when you're having fun and right now I'm having a LOT of fun!) so please excuse my old hair and the lack of tattoos. I promise I haven't magically vanished them, although how cool would it be if you could do that? Then you wouldn't have to worry about ever regretting them and going through the gross laser removal process.

More rambling. You can tell that my brain is mostly still in the book can't you? I'm forcing myself to have a temporary break while Made in Chelsea is on in an attempt to retain some of my sanity.

This outfit is basically wholly inspired by Matty Healy because why the hell not?! I think this was the first time I'd actually worn this beanie since I cut my hair - I wasn't sure how it would look with short hair but I actually really liked it which bodes well seeing as the cold weather is well and truly on its way. We all know it will be surgically attached to my head again by the time September rolls around.

My 'lol ur not matt healy' t-shirt has made another appearance - it's still a favourite in my wardrobe but sometimes I do wonder how ridiculous people think I look wearing it at the age of 24. Then I found out my boyfriend has a collection of Little Mix tour t-shirts and felt much better. Swings and roundabouts I guess ;)

The leather jacket is really, I guess, the most obvious resemblance to Matty - in a classic case of 'Cady Heron wore army pants and flip flops, so I bought army pants and flip flops' I saw that Matty had a leather jacket from The Kooples so I saved up for a while and bought a leather jacket from The Kooples. Although mine is infinitely cooler, clearly...

If you want to actually watch the video rather than reading me ramble on, you can watch it below or watch it on my channel here - don't forget to subscribe!

How would you have styled this jacket? Is there a celebrity who's style you'd love to emulate?
