HOLIDAY BLUES

UK Fashion Blogger

I am currently suffering from what is quite possibly the worst case of holiday blues and crippling anxiety ever. I only have myself to blame - booking off an extra few days from work to relax in London and chill with friends seemed like a great idea at the time but when all your friends are busy and you find yourself going mildly insane thanks to a small dose of cabin fever, you begin to question why on earth you thought this was sensible in the first place.

Digressing as usual from the point of this post, please forgive me.

Can we just take a minute to appreciate this location please? Arriving here after a very pleasant day in Brick Lane and taking shelter from the less than savoury weather outside, it was the perfect backdrop plus we all know I'm a sucker for some graffiti - remember my posts from Dublin last year anyone?

The focus of this outfit is of course the amazing Misguided dress I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Strictly speaking I couldn't technically afford it, but then after I saw it I also technically couldn't not buy it. I mean it's mesh for one and we all know I'm a closet exhibitionist who just can't resist showing a bit of flesh, plus it has that awesome elephant print on the front and it's literally the perfect length to wear in public without appearing indecent. Obviously with something underneath it though - I'm not quite at that stage of indecency. Yet.

I styled it with my favourite Topshop lace bralette and my H&M faux leather skirt although in hindsight the skirt wasn't my brightest choice because it was humid as hell and I kept having to attractively peel the 'leather' off my stomach while dodging the amateur glamour shoot taking place next to us. Sexy, I know.

How would you have styled it? Is there a kind of fabric/style that you just can't resist no matter what your bank account is telling you (make me feel better and tell me I don't have a problem!)?

  1. You look so effortlessly cool in your photos, I'm so jealous!
Definitely a big fan of mesh clothing items too! They add a bit of a naughty edgy something.
I'd probably wear a little black slip underneath, with bare legs and some chunky ass boots, docs or something similar.

    1. Says you!! You always look stunning mrs!
Oooh I like the idea of a black slip underneath - I'm so self conscious of my legs but I want to get to a point where I can wear clothes like that with bare legs and boots and feel comfortable. xo
