I'LL STOP WEARING BLACK WHEN THEY INVENT A DARKER COLOUR

Manchester Fashion Blogger

Now, this is the last outfit post you'll see from me that I'm not 100% happy with.
I'm changing up my photography game, and I'm getting out of my blogging funk for realz this time. Promise.
I'm actually dead motivated seriously.
I sound like I'm trying to convince myself here but I'm genuinely not, I'm just really bloody happy and want a bit more and a bit better for LJLV. I feel like I've been neglecting it and boy does it show.

Anyway.

It will come as absolutely no surprise to anyone reading this that my favourite colour both to wear and in general is black. It's slimming, it's flattering and it goes with bloody everything. Which is why my entire wardrobe is black and I don't see it changing any time soon hence the ridiculously relevant vest top which FYI is going to be bloody perfect for Leeds Festival this year (yes I am now going, yes I will blog, yes I'm bloody excited)

I also tried to get over my short person syndrome and buy another maxi skirt. I think I like this one more than the other one as it's all floaty and pretty and has built in shorts to avoid those awkward underwear-under-sheer-clothing incidents of which I apparently have many (usually with the bra, I don't go around flashing my knickers to everyone but it takes all sorts I suppose). Anyway I felt super confident and HAWT and all that jazz - I teamed it with my oversized denim jacket for warmth and also to break up the black, but then it turned boiling hot so I took it off. Cool story bro.

Do you have any pieces of clothing you find intimidating to wear like I do maxi skirts?

  1. Scientists recently made the colour 'Obsidian' which is suppose to be as black as the void! Haha, just saying...Love your skirt! It's gorgeous <3

  2. I'm short so I also also found maxi anything intimidating to wear but I found that, actually if I got a maxi dress that was the right length for me it looked great and didn't make me look stumpy like I feared it might.

You look lovely btw, this outfit is one I'd wear for sure. x

    1. Thank you lovely!

I've sort of solved my issue with them by wearing heels every time I put on anything full length, but I'd love to eventually find one I could wear with flats without looking stumpy! xo

  5. I'm exactly the same with maxi skirts and dresses, I have a skirt similar to this but I'm never brave enough to wear it! I may have to give it another go after seeing you rock yours though.
Also love that you've moved to Manchester, so nice seeing backgrounds that I recognise :)
