DUBLIN STYLE

Jetting off to the Emerald Isle for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday last week is seriously one of the best decisions I've made in a long time.Good food, good wine and even better company was the order of the weekend, and exactly what Chris and I needed to relax and unwind following a busy and stressful start to 2015 for both of us. I attempted to pack a capsule wardrobe for the trip, attempted being the key word here - and failed miserably upon realising that I definitely needed a suitcase and not the snazzy little carry on case I was hoping for. It was totally worth it.

Exploring the city required comfort more than anything else - although Dublin's transport system is one of the best out of any city I have visited before, we chose to walk every day as it allowed us a little more freedom to explore and absorb the city's true beauty. Out of the four pairs of shoes I took (yes, ok I may have over packed a little) my Nikes never left my feet; they truly are the best pair of shoes I've bought in a very long time and are just so bloody comfortable I can't even.

Although we were blessed with extraordinarily good weather - it was actually sunny every single day we were there - I still opted for a sweater and jacket combination as I didn't want to risk a weather change while out and about without being prepared! My little leather Topshop jacket proved to be the perfect option for this, short and lightweight while still remaining warm it meant that I never had the uncomfortable, too hot sweaty feeling while exploring. My River Island beanie and Urban Outfitters backpack are still huge staples for my wardrobe - the beanie was more to keep my hair in check that day as I'd forgotten to pack a hairbrush and I essentially had a small bird's nest on my head, but the bag especially was a lifesaver allowing me to lug around two cameras, an alternative lens choice, money and anything else I required for the day.

A full Dublin post will be up this week, so for specifics on what we did and where we went, look for that appearing on Thursday! For now however, enjoy more photos of myself and this stunning street art we found around the corner from our hotel.
